Specialty Eye Procedures

Personalised Consultation

In order to accurately tailor a suitable eye procedure for you, our plastic surgeons will conduct and in-depth evaluation of the skin around your eyes.

This assessment will allow us to analyse your eyes and facial features in detail, as well as evaluate your medical history and overall health, to determine if the scarless method is suitable, and ensure a successful and safe outcome for each patient.

The Actual Eyelid Procedure

Before the procedure begins, local anaesthesia with light sedation is used to ensure optimal comfort throughout the procedure.

Procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. Under the hands of our experienced plastic surgeons, a procedure can usually be completed within 1-2 hours. Thereafter, you will be monitored for any complications before being deemed fit for discharge, where you will then complete your recovery at home.

1-2 Week Downtime

Some temporary and manageable post-procedural effects are to be expected. Common ones include:

Pain and discomfort
Swelling and bruising
Numbness in the eyelids
Light sensitivity
Double vision
Difficulty closing the eyes

Rest assured that with sufficient rest and proper adherence to post-op care as advised by your doctor, these symptoms will soon subside. Regular follow-up appointments will also be scheduled to ensure that you are healing optimally as intended.

A holistic treatment programme begins with a comprehensive assessment by our eyelid surgeons. Begin your journey to attractive eyes with us.
Double Eyelid Surgery
Key Benefits:
  • Bigger, rounder-looking eyes
  • Improve puffy upper eyelids
  • Tighten saggy upper eyelids
Double Eyelid Surgery

Many East Asians are born with monolids, which means they lack a crease or fold in their eyelids, giving the appearance of a flatter eye contour and smaller eyes.

Upper eyelid surgery, also known as upper blepharoplasty, creates an upper eyelid crease to reveal more of the natural eye contour. During the procedure, incisions are placed along the upper eyelid creases to create the double eyelid crease. If recommended, excess skin (and sometimes fat) will be removed to reduce puffiness. Finally, incisions are closed with sutures.

As healing progresses over 3-6 months, the sutures will be removed and patients will be able to enjoy a natural, refreshed look.

In eligible cases, the "scarless" or suture-free method may be used, which offers a shorter recovery time and natural-looking results. This technique is typically recommended for younger patients with minimal excess skin or fat, but your plastic surgeon will be in the best position to advise you on whether you are a suitable candidate.

Epicanthoplasty
Key Benefits:
  • Bigger, brighter-looking eyes
  • Less-slanted eyes

Another common trait in people of East Asian descent is the epicanthal fold – particularly the medial epicanthal fold – a skin fold of the upper eyelid that covers the inner corner of the eye. It tends to make the eyes seem further apart, more so in those with low nose bridges.

Epicanthoplasty

Epicanthoplasty addresses this skin fold by removing or redistributing the excess skin and tissue. During the procedure, an incision is made along the inner corner of the eye and the tissue is carefully trimmed and shaped to create a wider and more distinct eye shape. With access to modern epicanthoplasty techniques, we are able to complete the procedure with barely noticeable scars.

This procedure is often done together with double eyelid surgery to further enhance results. After healing completes over 3-6 months, patients will be able to enjoy larger, natural-looking eyes.

Eyebag Removal Surgery
Key Benefits:
  • Improve puffy lower eyelids
  • Tighten undereye area
  • Reduce tear troughs and dark eye circles
Eyebag Removal Surgery

As we age, our skin begins to sag due to lower collagen and elastin production. Muscles tend to weaken and fat tends to accumulate at the lower eyelid area as well. This causes the puffiness that is characteristic of eyebags.

Eyebag removal surgery removes the excess fat and tightens the saggy lower eyelid area. During the procedure, a small incision is made in the lower eyelid (or sometimes on the inside of the eyelid) to access the excess fat. The fat is then carefully removed or redistributed, and loose skin is removed as well.

New eyebag removal techniques have allowed us to avoid excessive hollowing over the lower eyelid area. After a 3-6 month recovery process, patients will be able to reap the full benefits of a smoother, more youthful appearance.
